With his brother earning an F4 United States Championship Powered Honda race win two weeks ago, Zack Ping will look follow in the same steps this weekend at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia. Set to compete in the Round 3 Racing Hagerty sponsored Porsche 991 at the World Racing League event (WRL), Ping is looking to build upon his top-five result over the last few weeks ago at Road America and Daytona.
“Back on track this weekend and I could not be more excited,” explained Ping. “I always enjoy competing in the WRL events, and I think I am with one of the best teams in the paddock. We have had a lot of success in the past and that has made me even hungrier again to be back on the podium.”
Taking on the 2.54-mile, 12-turn road course, Ping will compete in the Test + 9 + 7 race weekend that will feature 24 hours of available track time. With an eight-hour test session on Friday, the first of two endurance style races will take place on Saturday and will be nine hours in length while Sunday will be the home of the shorter seven-hour race.
Ping added, “It is all about patience in these races and being there in the end. If we use our heads on the track and have good pit stops, we can be on the top step of the podium.”
While Zack is on track this week, Noah will be forced to wait three more weeks before his next event in the F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda at New Jersey Motorsports Park at the end of July.
