Continuing to build the World Karting Association (WKA) program for 2021, series officials are pleased to partner with Keith Freber and the Margay Ignite efforts. Joining a program that will see competitors compete at both the WKA Manufacturers Cup and WKA National Road Racing event at the Daytona International Speedway, competitors can compete on both the Sprint and 3.56-mile Roval style road course.

“Daytona is The World Center of Racing…we are headed back for some serious fun in the sun with Ignite as part of WKA Kartweek 2020! I ran my first race at Daytona in 1981 and have raced in every event since, and I can’t think of a better place to be the last week of December,” expressed Keith Freber. “It’s an unbelievable opportunity for karters to race at a marquee venue like Daytona, and we are excited to make it easier than ever to race at not only the sprint track as part of the WKA Manufacturers Cup Series but also on the famed 3.56 mile road course that will host the Rolex 24 hour event only a few weeks later.”

“The Margay brand has been one of the longest and largest brands within karting in the United States,” explained WAK President Kevin Williams. “The evolution that they have brought to karting and always finding a way to make everything work while providing the best for the end user is proof that Keith and the people that he has around him are not only business people, but also care about the sport of karting.”

Freber continued, “WKA has been exceptionally accommodating in welcoming us and the Ignite classes back to Kartweek, and we are thrilled to be competing with Ignite in both the Manufacturers Cup and WKA National Road Race events. WKA will be offering Ignite Junior, Ignite Senior & Ignite Masters at both events and featuring a schedule that will allow racers to run one or two days at the Manufacturers Cup and then head south to the Road Race paddock and hit the high banks for another one or two days of racing on one of the most famous venues in the world.”

“The Ignite classes will be open to all Ignite karts…bring your own, travel with your team, travel with us or sign up for a full arrive & drive program where you literally just arrive & drive,” concluded Freber. “We just want to see you down south on December 28th-30th!”

Entry blank for the full Manufacturers Cup and Road Race program including Ignite will be posted Thursday.
