After a lengthy summer break, the Tovo twins, Ethan and Jackson, are back behind the wheel and ready to take on the VIRginia International Raceway (VIR) this weekend for the next two rounds of the Toyota GR Cup North America program. Competing out of the Nitro Motorsports camp and with a new partner in Continental Toyota, the twin brothers return to the track energized and focused, looking to continue their steady climb through the field after a strong first half of the season.
The 3.27-mile road course at VIR is renowned for its high-speed and momentum-building sections, technical corners, and picturesque setting in southern Virginia. It marks the beginning of the second half of the 2025 season, and for the Tovos, it’s an opportunity to showcase their progress and gain more ground in the competitive GR Cup field.
“We’ve been working hard during the break, staying sharp and reviewing everything from the first half of the season,” explained Ethan Tovo, who enters the event with support from Dicks Sporting Goods and IMC. “I’m really excited to get back out there and push for more top-ten finishes.”
Jackson echoed his brother’s thoughts, “VIR is such a cool track. It’s fast, flowing, and super demanding. We’ve learned a ton so far this year, and we’re ready to put it all together this weekend.”

Since their last event at Sebring International Raceway in May, where both drivers showed strong pace and growth, the Tovo twins have continued training and preparing for the second half of the season. With VIR’s mix of elevation changes, fast flowing, and technical sections, as well as the tough competition of the GR Cup North America field, it will be a weekend of pushing for Jackson and Ethan.
The weekend begins with a series test on Thursday, followed by two official practice sessions on Friday. Saturday will feature Qualifying 1 and Race 1, and the event will wrap on Sunday with Qualifying 2 and Race 2. Fans can catch all the action at VIR live at www.GRCupSeries.com.
