This past weekend marked the start of the 2023 Blue Marble Radical Cup North America season and it didn’t disappoint. The 25-driver lineup took to the 2.75-mile track of NOLA Motorsports Park, all eager to size up the competition and take their place on the top step of the podium. Among the winners this past weekend was WISKO Racing’s Danny Dyszelski who swept the competition by setting pole position in Friday’s qualifying in wet conditions and winning all three races of the opening weekend in the PRO 1500 class.
“We are so proud of Danny after this weekend,” explained Team Owner Danyel Torres Delgado. “We could not have had a better result. Danny is an extremely talented driver and belongs on the top step of the podium.”
Delgado continued, “Even though we’ve got much to be proud of this weekend, we’re not going to stop pushing. We’ll be working our hardest to stay at the top throughout the season. This is the first three of many wins this year.”
Pairing the impressive caliber of WISKO Racing with a brand-new SR3 XX, Dyszelski was able to bring home three victories in the PRO 1500 class. Danny, putting out speedy laps throughout the weekend, managed to start on the pole position for all three races, leading nearly every lap in each wheel-to-wheel race. Despite the multi-class racing on track in the Radical Cup races, Dyszelski handled out-of-class traffic like a pro, performing careful, strategic passes.
WISKO Racing’s other driver Richard Durocher managed to lay down some fast laps in all three races during the weekend but took a bit of a beating from another car in race three, causing him to spend a bit of time in the pits. Gaining experience with each passing lap, Durocher was able to gain additional knowledge and race craft that will help him as the Blue Marble Radical Cup North America program continues in 2023.
WISKO racing will return to compete in the next Blue Marble Radical Cup North America race at Barber Motorsports Park alongside the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and the full rung of the USF Pro Championships ladder at the end of April.
