Blue Marble Radical Cup North America heads down south to Birmingham, Alabama this coming weekend to take a ride on the Alabama rollercoaster that is Barber Motorsports Park. The 17-turn, 2.3-mile-long natural terrain road course features 80 feet of elevation change that challenges both drivers and engineers. This will be the second stop on the Blue Marble Radical Cup North America 2023 schedule and is always a driver and fan favorite.
Among several teams competing this weekend is front running team WISKO Racing. After an undefeated first round at NOLA Motorsports Park, the Virginia-based team has shot to the top of three current championship runs, a direct result of their talented, young leading driver Danny Dyszelski. The 15-year-old rookie is not only leading in points for the PRO 1500 class but has bumped WISKO Racing into the leading spot for the Pro 1500 Team Championship as well. Dyszelski is also leading the outright Blue Marble Radical Cup North America championship going into the race weekend with a total of 163 points.
Racing alongside Dyszelski and adding to the team’s point lead is veteran driver Richard Durocher. With a consistent run at the opening round at NOLA Motorsports Park, Durocher is looking to turn improve his finishes and improve in the weekend’s final results. Also racing out of the WISKO Racing stable will be David Alban as the trio of team competitors will see action in the PRO 1500 class.
“We worked hard to get in this position,” explained Team Manager Danyel Torres. “But that doesn’t mean we can let up on the gas. The season is still young. I believe Danny and the team can come out on top, and we just need to keep pushing and keep it consistent at every race, and Barber is no different.”
WISKO Racing will hit the track at Barber Motorsports Park on Thursday for the second round of the Blue Marble Radical Cup North America season alongside the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and the full rung of the USF Pro Championships ladder series.
