Blue Marble Radical Cup North America held its final few rounds of 2023 at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca this past weekend, racing alongside the season finale of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. The Virginia-based race team, WISKO Racing, competed with a three-car lineup, two drivers in the Pro 1500 class and one in the Platinum class.
In a caution-filled race one, Danny Dyszelski, in regular fashion, scored a podium finishing third in class, one spot ahead of his championship title competitor. Also in the Pro 1500 class, Mike Calka finished 15th in his first start this year for WISKO Racing. In the Platinum class, Jim Booth brought it home within the top-ten, crossing the finish line in seventh.
In a cleaner race two, Dyszelski grabbed another podium, finishing third overall and second in class. Calka leveled up his race one result with a 12th place finish in Pro 1500, and Booth finished just shy of a podium result in fourth in the Platinum class.
The championship title came down to race three where Dyszelski would have to fight for the Pro 1500 driver championship, but a late-race caution ended the battle early. He finished second in class and claimed second in the championship. Calka finished 13th in the Pro 1500 class to close out his trio of results. In the Platinum class, some early carnage on track ended Booth’s final run, as he was unable to finish the race.
“It’s a little disappointing the championship ended under a yellow,” explains Dyszelski. “I think could have had the title if we were able to battle it out. Nevertheless, the WISKO Racing team killed it this year. We’ve accomplished so much, and I’m thankful for all the support and hard work from them this season.”
