It was the opening weekend of the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Pro Tour and it was a victorious one for Ayden Ingratta. Taking on the NOLA Motorsports Park, Ingratta and his Speed Concepts Racing prepared and Speed Lab Racing Engines Powered Redspeed kart improved from his sixth place finish Saturday to stand atop the X30 Junior podium on Sunday.

“Great weekend,” expressed Ingratta. “While I was only able to finish sixth on Saturday, it was after I started 19th so I was happy with the drive forward. The momentum from Saturday gave me the confidence on Sunday, and I was happy to leave New Orleans with a win.”

After showing pace on Friday during the official practice sessions late in the day where Ingratta was well inside the top-five, Saturday proved to be a mixed bag of results for the talented Speed Concepts Racing Junior. In a day that featured rain and storms in the morning along with a more than 90-minute delay, drivers and teams were getting anxious to get going. After qualifying in the seventh position and moving forward to run inside the top-five in the X30 Junior prefinal, Ingratta was eventually classified in the 19th position after an unfortunate push back bumper penalty relegated him down the running order. Taking away a top-five result, the Canadian would start the main event from inside row ten.

Ingratta was able to show his speed during the day’s final as he has become known as a driver to turn it on when it counts. Looking to make something out of nothing, Ingratta used the power provided by Speed Lab Racing Engines to rocket his way forward and into the top-ten. Showing his veteran like abilities, the young junior driver climbed his way all the way to the sixth position before the final checkered flag would fly. Happy with his result, but never satisfied, Ingratta would turn to Sunday to try and topple the talented field of Juniors.

With better weather and dry qualifying conditions, Ingratta was able to use his speed as Sunday morning qualifying saw a solid third place result. Maintaining that position through the prefinal and starting the main event from the inside of row two, Ingratta battled hard in the front trio. Taking the lead and defending on the final lap, Ayden Ingratta held the point taking his first Superkarts! USA Pro Tour victory of the year.

“We are back!” explained Ingratta. “We have had several fast laps and podium results in the past few races, but it is great to be back on top!”
