Tyler Maxson is ready to return to Road Atlanta for the seventh event of the 2026 Porsche Carrera Cup North America season, entering the penultimate race weekend of the championship with an 11-point lead in the Mobil Pro Class standings. With the title fight entering its final stages, the TOPP Racing driver will look to build on his previous success at the 2.54-mile circuit and carry momentum into the season finale.
Road Atlanta, located in Braselton, Georgia, is Maxson’s home facility and one where he has found success in multiple race programs. Located close to his residence, Maxson will receive an extra boost from family, friends, and supporters this weekend.
With only two events remaining on the 2026 schedule, every point will be critical. Maxson will enter the doubleheader focused on maximizing each session and bringing home strong finishes to protect his championship advantage before the series heads to Circuit of the Americas for the season finale.
“I’m really looking forward to getting back to Road Atlanta,” commented Maxson. “We’ve had some good results there in the past, so I’m excited to get back in the car and see what we can do. We know how important these last four races are for the championship, so the goal is to stay consistent, maximize every opportunity and put ourselves in the best position possible heading into COTA.”
The Porsche Carrera Cup North America field will compete alongside the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship as the series joins IMSA for its ten-hour season finale. Action begins Wednesday, September 30, with two practice sessions. Qualifying and Race One will take place Thursday, October 1, before Race Two closes out Round Seven on Friday, October 2.
Fans can tune into the penultimate round live on the Porsche Motorsport North America YouTube Channel.
