As the calendar switches to June, it is time for Tyler Maxson to begin his 2024 race program. Racing in the IMSA-sanctioned Ford Mustang Challenge program with Robert Noaker Racing (RNR), Maxson, driving the #74 entry, will join the new series and become an instant threat for race wins, podiums, and the overall series title.

“The team just received the cars last week, so it has been a bit of a thrash on their part to get everything ready,” explained Maxson. “We had a good shake-down test, and everything went very well. We are excited to kick off the season this coming weekend and see what we can do!”

The Mustang Challenge will host a field of Mustang Dark Horse R racecars running on bespoke race tires from official series partner Michelin. The series will compete at some of the most iconic tracks in North America, including Mid-Ohio, Watkins Glen, Road America, COTA, and a season finale at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, home to the Ford Performance Racing School, which will manage the official spec racing series.

Maxson continued, “Entering the weekend, it is a bit of an unknown what to expect. We know the series will be great, and we expect the level of competition to be high, but who will be the drivers to beat remains unknown.”

With the inaugural event this weekend at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Tyler Maxson and Robert Noaker Racing are looking to make history by becoming the first winners in the Ford Mustang Challenge.
