Shifting his focus to the next event, Tyler Maxson and Robert Noaker Racing are heading to the famed Circuit of the Americas this coming weekend. As the current point leader in the IMSA Mustang Challenge, Maxson brings the momentum from a double podium performance into Texas as he looks to extend his lead and work towards the inaugural Mustang Challenge championship.
With six races of the five event, ten race series in the books, Maxson sits atop the championship standings by 60 markers over his teammate, Robert Noaker. Consistently at the front of the field, a combination of race wins, podium results, and consistent finishes has Maxson in the lead with four wheel-to-wheel races remaining.
“It has been a good year, and I have enjoyed being back in the sprint racing, single driver format,” explained Maxson. “We have two events left, one this weekend, and the goal remains the same at the beginning of the season. We are not looking at the championship but are focused on race results and wins. If we do that right, we will be fine when the checkered flag in Indianapolis closes the season.”
Racing alongside the World Endurance Championship this coming weekend, Tyler Maxson will battle the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas as he aims for two more Mustang Challenge wins.
Maxson continued, “It is always tough entering a new season with new cars and a new team, but I think we have all gelled nicely. First and second in the driver point championship and leading the team title chase, it is just a matter of continuing to do what we have been doing.”
