TYLER MAXSON ENTERS ROAD AMERICA AS THE TCA POINT LEADER

After a pair of podium results at the Watkins Glen International Raceway a few weeks ago, Georgia resident Tyler Maxson took over the TC America series point lead. Fast forward to this coming weekend, the Copeland Motorsports driver enters Road America with the same mindset that he has had in the past as he looks to extend the point gap to his rivals as well as take a stranglehold on the Rookie of the Year title chase.

“Our last event provided us the opportunity to claim two podium results,” explained Maxson. “We were fast at Road America a few months ago in the Global MX-5 Cup program but had some bad luck in the races. Knowing what it takes to run up front here, I feel that I am more prepared entering this weekend than I was in the past and the goal of winning is priority.”

Taking on the 4.014-mile Kettle Moraine facility in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, Maxon will once again pilot his familiar Mazda MX-5 ND2 #74 machine. Entering the event atop the championship standings by 12 markers, the up-and-coming talent is riding a wave of momentum claiming eight straight podium results and nine podiums in the last ten races.

Maxson added, “I really would like to continue my podium streak as consistency like this is what wins championships. We will be aiming for the win, but if that is not in the cards this weekend, we will just look to claim as many points towards the end of the year total as possible. Also, I will have a teammate in the TCA division this weekend so that will be an added benefit.”

With the penultimate round set to hit the track this Friday, Tyler Maxson will take part in the two allotted TCA practice sessions before qualifying and race one take place on Saturday. Sunday will once again be home for race two on the weekend. Stay tuned to the Tyler Maxson Racing social media pages for up to date news, information, photos and results from Road America.
