Tyler Maxson continued his impressive Porsche Carrera Cup North America campaign this past weekend at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS), showcasing speed and determination in one of the most competitive fields of the season. Returning to the historic 2.439-mile IMS road course with TOPP Racing, Maxson put together a consistent weekend highlighted by a pair of strong top-ten finishes.
Maxson opened the weekend by qualifying fifth, positioning himself well for the doubleheader event. In Race One, the Georgia native battled fiercely inside the top-ten and crossed the finish line in sixth place. A post-race penalty, however, ultimately classified him eighth in the final results. Undeterred, Maxson came back strong in Race Two, fighting his way through a tight midfield battle to claim an impressive fifth-place finish, marking one of his best drives of the season.
“Indianapolis is such an incredible place to race, and I’m proud of what we accomplished this weekend,” said Maxson. “The competition in Carrera Cup is incredibly tough, but our pace was strong, and we kept improving every session. A big thank you to everyone at TOPP Racing for giving me a great car. Leaving the Brickyard with two solid finishes gives us momentum heading into Road Atlanta.”
Maxson added, “Also, congrats to my teammate Ryan Yardley and TOPP Racing for a pair of podium results. Let’s see what we can do together at the next one.”
Next, Maxson and TOPP Racing will head to Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta for the penultimate round of the 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup North America season, scheduled for October 8–11, where Maxson will look to build on his Indianapolis success and gain crucial championship points.
