With two events now in the books, Tyler Gonzalez will focus on round three this weekend at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Piloting a Van Der Steur Racing prepared Hyundai Veloster N TCR, Gonzlez will drive alongside Rory Van Der Steur in the #19 entry as they look for their first podium result of the season and the chance to climb the championship point standings.

“It has been a good year for us considering we are a one car privateer effort,” explained Gonzalez. “The Van Der Steur Racing guys wear their heart on their sleeve and dig deep every weekend. The only thing that Rory and I can do is try to reward them with results for their effort and so far, this year we have been doing that.”

With solid results at both the Daytona International Speedway and Sebring International Raceway, Gonzalez will be looking to lead the team to another one this weekend in California. Despite no wins or podiums on the season, Gonzalez and Van Der Steur have been steadily consistent in their attack, completing all race laps to date this season.

Gonzalez added, “The goal for us is to be consistent and we know if we are, we will catch a break. Our time will come.”

Tied for fourth in the driver’s points battle and only ten points away from third and an additional ten markers from second, a solid weekend in Salinas, California could promote Gonzalez and Van Der Steur up the championship standings and make them a true contender after three race weekends.

Ready to hit the track on Friday, Gonzalez will participate in two practice sessions on Friday before qualifying and round three goes green on Saturday. Follow along with Live Timing and Video by visiting
