This weekend, the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge heads to New York for the Esses 120 at Watkins Glen. Tyler Gonzalez, racing for Victor Gonzalez Racing Team, is looking for more success as he enters the heart of the racing season.

Last time out in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Four Hours of Mid-Ohio, the #99 Hyundai Elantra N TCR had strong pace, qualifying eighth in class, but ultimately finished the race in 14th.

“We were quick in Mid-Ohio but didn’t have the results to show for it in the end,” Gonzalez said, “I’m excited to get back on track this weekend and show how strong we can be.”

Heading into the fifth race weekend of the season, Gonzalez is confident they can fight at the front at Watkins Glen.

“We’ve shown before this season that we can fight for wins and podiums, and I know we can do that again this weekend,” Gonzalez added. “The VGRT crew has put in a ton of hard work this season, and hopefully, we can reward that hard work with a win this weekend.”

Gonzalez and the rest of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge competitors will first take to “The Glen” Friday morning for practice one, followed by practice two Friday afternoon, and qualifying Friday evening. The Esses 120 at Watkins Glen will take place on Saturday afternoon.
