The Pirelli GT4 America program heads south to Texas for round five of the championship at Circuit of the Americas as Tyler Gonzalez and Smooge Racing hope to build on a solid season so far. After winning round one at Sonoma Raceway, Gonzalez and co-driver John Geesbreght are looking to return to the podium in Austin, Texas.

Gonzalez showed strong pace last time out at Sebring International Raceway, and the Smooge Racing duo of Gonzalez and Geesbreght took home a pair of sixth-place finishes in the Silver class.

“We didn’t get the results we wanted in rounds three and four, but we had good pace and drove clean races,” Gonzalez explained. “I’m confident that John and I can fight at the front end of the field this weekend, just like we did at the opener in Sonoma.”

Gonzalez looks forward to getting on track for his third race weekend in three weeks.

“I’ve been busy these past few weeks, but it’s been nice to spend my weekends behind the wheel of a race car,” Gonzalez added. “I’m excited to return with the Smooge Racing crew this weekend and see what we can achieve at COTA.”

The #68 Toyota Gazoo Racing GR Supra GT4 EVO will hit the 3.426-mile, 20-turn road course on Friday for two practice sessions. Qualifying and the race will take place on Saturday.
