With multiple victories and podium results to his credit already in 2024, Tyler Gonzalez is set to start another series of competition this weekend. Traveling to California and the famed Sonoma Raceway, Gonzalez will compete alongside John Geesbreght in the Silver class in the Pirelli GT4 America program with Smooge Racing and Toyota as he looks to start another successful campaign.

“I am ready for another series and to see what we can do,” explained Gonzalez, who is a multi-time winner in the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup in 2024 and the current point leader in the Trans-Am Series Presented by Pirelli. “I am excited to get started with Smooge Racing as I know that John and I will have a car that can compete for the win. I have had much success at Sonoma in the past and want to add more results to my 2024 resume.”

Running at the front of the field and having success in every car and in every series he has competed in this season, Gonzalez is confident that this coming weekend can be the same.

Gonzalez added, “The Toyota Gazoo Racing GR Supra GT4 EVO is a car that I have driven in the past, so I am not entering the weekend blind. Sonoma is a track where I have been on the podium in the past, so it is all about putting it together this weekend, and capitalizing on this opportunity that Smooge Racing, Toyota, and GEARWRENCH Tools have provided.”

With the official weekend kicking off Friday with a pair of practice sessions, qualifying and the first wheel-to-wheel action of the season will take the green flag on Saturday. Sunday will provide the second race of the weekend as Gonzalez, Geesbreght, Smooge Racing, and Toyota have a pair of opportunities to stand on the podium in California.
