The penultimate round of the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama took place this past weekend at the famed Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca, and BR Racing walked away with a pair of race wins and five podium results to close the weekend in style. Jade Avadisian took a pair of victories in the Cayman Pro/Am class while Robert Todd earned two podiums including one win in the 992 Pro/Am class as Sam Parnagian added another solid podium result for the California-based outfit.

After practice was completed and qualifying was in the books on Friday, a storm producing rain, lightning and thunder greeted BR Racing drivers Saturday morning as very treacherous conditions had arrived for the first wheel-to-wheel race of the weekend. With conditions improving throughout the morning, race two on the day was back to perfect track conditions and with drivers competing in the 992 Pro/Am class, 992 Am division, and the Cayman Pro/Am, results were plentiful over the intense day of competition.

Race one saw Robert Todd lead the way on the 992 Pro/Am class as a solid drive to the second step of the podium helped him in his quest to add more points to his season-long total. Behind him, Blake Mcdonald was classified in the tenth position after a significant incident forced him to retire and threatened his chances to compete in race two. In the 992 Am class, it was Sal Brogna who earned the team’s best finish crossing the line in seventh while Richard French added another top-ten result in ninth. Like teammate Blake Mcdonald, Sam Parnagian was involved in a major incident as the BR Racing crew needed to repair a pair of Porsche racecars in the hopes of making it on track for race two. With a team of talented mechanics and crew members who worked together in unison, both BR Racing machines made the grid for the second race of the weekend with less than a minute to spare much to the satisfaction of the crew who worked tirelessly to make sure their drivers were on the grid. In the Cayman Pro/Am class, Jade Avedisian took home top honors as she was on track to increase her experience and add to her skillset at Laguna Seca.

With race one in the morning, it was a quick turnaround for race two that afternoon as all BR Racing drivers improved their results from the first wheel-to-wheel action. Robert Todd climbed to the top step of the podium in the Pro/Am class adding another win to his results resume as Sam Parnagian put a pair of BR Racing drivers on the podium with a third-place result. While the podium was impressive, it was even more of a feat that a completely rebuilt racecar was able to have so much speed to drive through the field and achieve success. Blake Mcdonald crossed the line sixth pushing all three BR Racing drivers in the Pro/Am ranks into the top-six. In the 992 Am class, Richard French added another top-five result for the potent program crossing the line fifth while Sal Brogna was eighth. Jade Avadisian was also back on track taking top honors in the Cayman GT4 class.

“It was a great weekend for us, and we are already looking forward to the next one,” explained BR Racing’s Robert Todd. “To walk away with wins, podiums, and the results that we had is a true testament to how hard we work and the skills of both our team and drivers. There is no slowing down now as we aim to finish the season strong.”

The next stop for BR Racing will be at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway over the October 4-7 weekend.
