TOPP Racing continued its strong 2026 season this past weekend at VIRginia International Raceway, earning a podium finish and multiple top-five results in Porsche Sprint Challenge North America competition before shifting focus to a busy double-duty weekend at Watkins Glen International.
The team fielded three entries at VIR, including Danny Dyszelski in the GT3 category and the father-son duo of Cody and Chad Knight in the Cayman classes. Dyszelski led the team’s efforts in GT3 competition, opening the weekend with a fourth-place finish in Race One. He followed that performance with a strong drive in Race Two, securing a second-place result and adding another podium result to his growing collection this season.
In the Cayman division, Cody Knight continued his consistent run of form in the Pro/Am class. Knight crossed the line fifth in Race One before improving to fourth in Race Two, narrowly missing out on a podium finish in his first ever trip to the challenging VIR facility. Meanwhile, Chad Knight delivered a pair of solid performances in the Cayman Masters class, finishing sixth in both races and collecting valuable championship points.
“VIR was another productive weekend for our program, and we were happy to be near the pointy end of the field,” explained Todd Oppermann. “Danny was able to bring home a podium in GT3, and both Cody and Chad continued to show consistency and improvement throughout the event. The entire team worked hard all weekend, and it’s encouraging to see the momentum we’ve built over the last few rounds. Now we’re looking forward to taking that momentum into Watkins Glen with two different programs competing on one of the biggest stages of the season.”
With the Porsche Sprint Challenge weekend complete, TOPP Racing now turns its attention to Watkins Glen International, where the team will compete in both Porsche Carrera Cup North America and Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America competition.
In Porsche Carrera Cup North America, the team will field Tyler Maxson and Cole Kleck. Maxson continues to be a championship contender after a strong start to the season, while Kleck has consistently battled near the front of the field throughout 2026.
TOPP Racing will also campaign two entries in Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America, with Avery Towns competing in the Pro class and Rocky Bolduc representing the team in the Lamborghini Cup category.
As the summer racing schedule intensifies, TOPP Racing heads to Watkins Glen looking to build upon its recent success and add more podium finishes across both championship programs. The Watkins Glen race weekend will begin Thursday with practice sessions for both series. Friday will feature qualifying and Race One for Porsche Carrera Cup North America and Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America, while Race Two for both championships will take place on Saturday.
