TOPP Racing delivered a strong showing on one of motorsport’s biggest stages this past weekend, scoring two podium finishes during the second event weekend of the 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup North America season. Taking place at the Miami International Autodrome and racing alongside Formula 1 for the Miami Grand Prix, both Topp Racing drivers had their chance to stand on the lucrative podium.
In their second Porsche Carrera Cup event of the year, held during an F1 weekend, the team’s two-car effort featured standout drivers Ryan Yardley and Tyler Maxson, who stepped up to the challenge with determined drives in mixed weather conditions.
After a wet qualifying session on Saturday, Yardley secured P2 on the grid while Maxson slotted into the seventh position. In the first wheel-to-wheel action of the weekend, it was Maxson who made a charge to the front, climbing through the field to finish second, marking his first podium of the season. Teammate Ryan Yardley encountered challenges and finished outside the top-ten in the 12th position.
Race two saw fortunes flip, with Yardley staging a strong comeback drive to claim the second step of the podium on Sunday morning, bringing home the team’s second podium of the weekend. Maxson closed out a consistent weekend with a solid seventh-place finish but wanted more with his strongest weekend to date in the Porsche program.
“This was an important weekend for us to prove that we can perform under pressure and in front of a global audience,” said TOPP Racing Owner Todd Oppermann. “Both Ryan and Tyler showed the grit and talent we know they have, and to come away with two podiums in such a competitive field is a great boost heading into the heart of our season.”
TOPP Racing will now turn their attention to the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America at Circuit of the Americas, taking place May 16–18, before returning to the Carrera Cup grid alongside Formula 1 in Montreal, Canada for round five and six of the championship at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in June.
