TOPP Racing delivered another standout weekend at VIRginia International Raceway (VIR), with Cole Kleck sweeping both races in dominant fashion in the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America series. The 3.27-mile, 17-turn circuit played host to the fourth round of the championship season, where the team once again showcased their strength and consistency.
Cole Kleck, the current 992 Pro Am championship leader, continued to prove why he’s the driver to beat. Kleck secured pole position in qualifying and translated his pace into back-to-back victories in Races 1 and 2, extending his commanding lead in the points standings.
Francisco De Jesus, competing in the 992 Masters class, qualified 19th in class but showed steady progress throughout the weekend. In Race 1, he climbed to 14th in class and followed it with an 18th-place finish in Race 2, completing a solid run on one of North America’s most challenging circuits.
“Cole continues to impress us every weekend. His consistency, composure under pressure, and ability to execute from qualifying through the checkered flag is everything you want from a driver,” explained Team Owner Todd Oppermann. “Francisco also showed growth this weekend. VIR is a technical, unforgiving track, and his gains from qualifying to race finishes prove he’s heading in the right direction.”
With another successful weekend in the books, TOPP Racing now shifts its focus back to the Porsche Carrera Cup North America series. The team will head to Road America July 31st through August 2nd for the next two rounds of competition at the iconic 4.048-mile road course in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.
