It was another podium filled weekend for the BirelART North America contingent as PSL Karting and their dealer network secured ten podiums, including three victories at the opening round of the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Winter Series. Taking place at the AMR Motorplex in Homestead, Florida, Jordan Musser scored a pair of wins in Masters Shifter while RYSA Racing’s Jake Copeland topped the blocks in LO206 Senior.

“The Red Army was in full force this past weekend,” explained Dominic Labrecque. “It is great to see all of our teams, dealers and drivers working together towards a common goal. The results were what we expected and we can’t wait to get back on track this weekend and search for more.”

Leading the way with a pair of victories was Shifter Masters driver Jordan Musser. Piloting a BirelART chassis out of the PSL Karting stable, Musser secured both Saturday and Sunday’s main events as he has been one of the top drivers in the SKUSA program for several seasons and was the cream of the crop in South Florida.

Adding to the BirelART weekend win total was RYSA Racing’s Jake Copeland. Competing in the LO206 category, Copeland stood on the podium on Saturday with a third place effort but returned Sunday to take the checkers. Showing their strength in both the highest and lowest horsepower platforms, the BirelART product showed its diversity in SKUSA competition.

Pro Shifter driver Mathias Ramirez and Mini Swift pilot Caleb Gafrarar each added two podiums on the weekend as both drivers secured third place finishes in Saturday and Sunday’s wheel-to-wheel competition.

RYSA Racing also entered a pair of BirelART drivers in the LO206 Masters class as Dan Breitenstein and Manny Sola found their way to the podium. Breitenstein out dueled Sola for the second position during Sunday’s main event but both drivers were on the blocks claiming second and third place results.

Labrecque continued, “We had a lot of third place finishes over the weekend but consistency is what wins championships and that is our goal this season. All our dealers, including Prime Power Team, Andersen Racing and Rysa Racing, continue to put in great effort to keep BirelART at the forefront.”

PSL Karting would also like to give an honorable mention to team driver Thomas Nepveu. Competing in his first career Senior event, Nepveu battled in the 60-kart strong field of X30 Senior competitors and progressed throughout the weekend. After dropping to 15th position at the start of Saturday’s main event, the young talent drove to a sixth place result. Sunday looked to be going in the right direction but a possible chance at a podium was ruined after first lap contact forced him to retire from the main event after starting fifth.

The next and final event weekend for the Superkarts! USA Winter Series will take place in three weeks’ time, February 8-10, at the same AMR Motorplex in Homestead, Florida. Running reverse direction, BirelART North America will look to continue their winning ways.
