The IMSA weekend at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca saw a lot of action on the famous Corkscrew, and none more than from young driver Bryson Morris. Morris earned a trio of top-ten results over his trip to California when he competed in the Michelin Pilot Challenge race and the third and fourth rounds of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America series.

In the first Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America race of the weekend, Morris, alongside his ANSA Motorsports driving teammate Loris Cabirou, qualified fifth in class to cross under the checkered flag just short of a podium in fourth. Qualifying two positioned Morris and Cabirou in fourth for the start of the weekend’s final race and followed through with a fourth-place finish.

Morris also participated in the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca 120 with co-driver Taylor Hagler in the #77 car for Bryan Herta Autosport. Securing a seventh-place qualifying result in class, the duo was eager for a podium finish. Hagler took the green flag to drive the first half of the 120-lap race before Bryson Morris took over to finish the job. Despite not reaching the podium, the duo’s top-ten result of ninth for the weekend is a testament to their skill and dedication.

“We were really close in the Super Trofeo series this weekend,” explained Morris. “We just couldn’t make a podium happen. It’s a little frustrating, but we’ll keep pushing in that series. A top-ten in the IMPC is great, but we’re eager for a podium. We qualified well but just couldn’t make anything happen. There will be more work to do in that next event as well.”

Morris will return in the #77 car with Taylor Hagler and Bryan Herta Autosport next month at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course June 7-9 for the O’Reilly Auto Parts Four Hours of Mid-Ohio. The next Laborghini Super Trofeo North America race weekend will take place later that month Watkins Glen International.
