The Yacademy Winter Series by Hankook is set to go green in just over three weeks’ time. Bringing a cost-effective test program to the North American open-wheel community, the much-anticipated wheel-to-wheel portion of the program will commence during the first week of March with events at the Palm Beach International Raceway and the Homestead-Miami Speedway.

“We have offered track time to all formulas of racing and it has been very well received,” explained Gustavo Yacaman. “To have as much support as we did right out of the gate bodes well for the future. We have big plans in the summer to promote our program not only in North America, but Europe as well and push to bring even more support to the Yacademy.”

The two event dates are March 2-3, 2020 at Palm Beach international Raceway and March 4-5, 2020 at Homestead-Miami speedway and details are listed below

The following services will be available during the test days:
– Tire mounting
– Tire sales from Hankook
– Catering for drivers and crew
– Photographer for all the days
– Live timing

USF2000 and Indy Pro 2000 will be separated in their own practice sessions. During March 3rd and 5th, Indy Lights will have a chance to run on their own session as well. With F3, F4, USF2000, Indy Pro 2000 and Indy Lights present during the Yacademy Winter Series, every single open wheel driver can have access to affordable track time.

The F4 class will consist of three open practice sessions, with the last one considered as Qualifying on the first day at each track location. The second day, drivers will have three thirty-minute races. In the races, drivers will practice their standing starts, and if it doesn’t happen naturally, we will create a safety car situation in one of the three races for them to practice all of the proper procedures.

Yacaman continued, “Our goal is to provide a good amount of track time at an affordable rate, but also prepare drivers for the situations that will present them in racing for years to come. We want to help develop, mold and shape the skillsets and knowledge of these drivers.”

The champion of the first Yacademy Winter Series in F4 will earn four sets of Hankook Tires. The prize doesn’t necessarily need to be held only by the driver but can be handed down to the team which the driver raced for to further reduce running costs. Additional prizes will be announced in the very near future.
