TB KART USA AND RENE MARTINELLI IN CHAMPIONSHIP BATTLE AT FLORIDA WINTER TOUR FINALE

With the first quarter of 2021 quickly coming to a close, TB Kart USA and Rene Martinelli are looking to add a championship to their resume. Entering the final round of the ROK Cup USA Florida Winter Tour (FWT), Martinelli and five TB Kart branded drivers will take on the Ocala Gran Prix (OGP) facility March 18-21 hunting for race wins and podium results in the third and final round of the popular winter karting series.

Leading the way into Ocala will be a pair of Shifter Master ROK competitors as Rene Martinelli and Farshad Bagheri sit second and fifth in the overall points chase. With round three Florida Winter Tour points availability 33% greater than round two and nearly 66% greater than round one, it is anyone’s championship to win.

“We need to have a solid weekend and see where the chips fall,” explained TB Kart USA ‘s Bagheri. “Rene had a good weekend of racing in February and was consistently at the front of the field and on the podium for the second race in a row. In fact, all the TB Kart entries in the class ran inside the top-five in speed throughout the weekend proving the strength of shifter kart chassis.”

Joining Martinelli and Bagheri in the Shifter Master ROK division will be 2020 podium winner Pete Licciardi. Putting the February event behind him and fully focused on this weekend’s wheel-to-wheel racing, Licciardi will look to put his TB Kart USA #525 at the front of the field.

A pair of Senior Shifter ROK drivers will throw their hats into the mix at Ocala Gran Prix as Zach Hollingshead and Nick Trumbull will do battle. While Hollingshead had a trio of top-ten results in the February heat races as well as an eighth-place finish in the prefinal, Hollingshead was forced to retire in the main event as he looked to challenge for a top-five result. Nick Trumbull used the event to continue to gain experience and improved throughout the race weekend. Returning to OGP in March, Trumbull will aim to move up the results sheet.

Bagheri continued, “Our overall shifter kart program is one of the better ones in the country, and we hope to prove that this weekend.”

Adding to their driver lineup for the third and final round, TB Kart USA is pleased to welcome Ruben Caceres-Martos to the squad. Competing in the VLR Senior class, Caceres-Martos will show the strength of the TB Kart 100cc chassis in the competitive and growing VLR class.

With unofficial Florida Winter Tour practice beginning mid-week, TB Kart USA will look to close the ROK Cup USA program on a high. With qualifying and the first heat race taking place on Friday afternoon, heats two, three and the prefinal will roll off the grid on Saturday before the final main events of the series on Sunday.
