In their first cross country trek of the season, the Indianapolis, Indiana based Tony Kart outfit Supertune will travel to compete in the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Spring Nationals. Set to take on the Utah Motorsports Campus (UMC) in Tooele, Utah, Supertune will enter only three drivers across four classes as they look to find their way to the sharp end of the grid.
“We had a lot of success in 2019 at UMC and hope that we can take what we learned from nearly two years ago and apply it this coming weekend,” said Supertune’s Ben Cruttenden. “We have drivers that can win in X30 Junior, KA100 Junior and Mini Swift so we will put our heads down and work hard to make sure we are on the top step of the podium.”
2021 race winners Noah Baker and Diego Ardiles will represent Tony Kart and Supertune in their respective classes as Baker is the only team driver that will pull double duty on the weekend. Competing in both the X30 Junior and KA100 Junior categories, Baker is a threat for the checkered flag in both classes. Joining the young Texan in the X30 Junior class will be Mexican driver Fernando Luque. Luque has been on an upward trend since joining the Supertune program and narrowly missed out on a top-ten result at the United States Pro Kart Series event less than two weeks ago. Competing in the ultra-competitive X30 ranks, Luque and Baker will work together both on and off the track to give themselves the best chance at victory.
Mini Swift driver Diego Ardiles has also stood on the top step of the podium in 2021 and will look to do it again in Utah. One of the top Mini drivers in the country, Ardiles and his Supertune backed program will look to put it all together this weekend.
Cruttenden continued, “This is an important event for us as it will directly shape the championship outcome heading into the SummerNationals in August.”
