Consistency was name of the game for Supertune this past weekend at the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Winter Series finale as four drivers scored seven top-ten results in eight opportunities at the AMR Motorplex in Homestead, Florida. Leading the way for the Indianapolis based program was Noah Baker in X30 Junior and Karsyn Walters in Mini Swift.

“It was a solid weekend for us in South Florida, and we will have a quick turnaround and head to Ocala this weekend,” explained Ben Cruttenden. “To end the SKUSA Winter Series with all of our drivers with top-ten results shows the strength and diversity of our program in both Junior and Mini kart classes.”

It was Noah Baker that led the way for Supertune in the Junior ranks as a fifth-place result on Saturday turned into a fourth-place finish Sunday as he closed the series with a pair of top-five results. Jorge Ortiz showed great speed over the weekend leading Friday’s final practice session before finishing tenth on Saturday. His speed was apparent on Sunday as he scored the fastest lap of the X30 Junior main event en route to a ninth-place finish.

Female driver Karsyn Walters returned to the Supertune driver lineup in Homestead and was instantly rewarded with a pair of top-five finishes. Crossing the line fifth both Saturday and Sunday, Walters led the Supertune duo of Mini Swift drivers. Returning to the squad was Diego Ardilles, and he was rewarded with a top-ten result on Saturday. Finishing in the seventh position and looking for more Sunday, Ardilles was forced to retire early in Sunday’s main event.

Cruttenden added, “Both Karsyn and Diego put the Tony Kart Mini chassis close to the front of the field. With limited experience compared to their classmates, they performed flawlessly and will be threats for race wins through the rest of the 2021 season.”

It will be no time off for the Supertune squad as they quickly head north for the second round of the ROK Cup USA Florida Winter Tour. Taking place this coming weekend at the Ocala Gran Prix facility in Ocala, Florida, Supertune will aim towards the top step of the podium as they look to end February strong.
