Taking on the NOLA Motorsports Park for the opening round of the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Pro Tour, Supertune walked away with a pair of victories in the junior ranks. Leading the way for the Indiana based squad, Noah Baker added two wins and four top-five results as Mini Swift driver Diego Ardiles claimed one podium result and a pair of top-ten finishes.

Dominating the KA100 Junior class, Noah Baker was the driver to beat all weekend long. Securing the race win on Saturday, Sunday proved to be a little more difficult for the young driver. With weather wreaking havoc in the area, a drying track forced competitors to make a tire choice prior to entering the grid. Selecting used rain tires compared to most driver’s choice of new, Baker was able to jump out to a huge lead and never look back.

In the X30 Junior class, Baker was able to battle at the front of the field and put himself in the championship points hunt. With two fifth place results over the weekend, Baker was the best junior driver on the property with four top-five results.

“Noah is one of the top junior drivers in the country,” explained Supertune’s Ben Cruttenden. “It doesn’t matter whether it is an IAME engine, ROK engine or 100cc platform, Noah always seems to find his way into a race winning position, or at least giving himself a chance at victory in the end.

Competing in the Mini Swift class and coming off several podiums in the first three months of the year, Diego Ardiles added another podium result to his resume. Crossing the line in the second position on Saturday, Ardiles returned Sunday to claim a top-ten result in seventh, asserting himself as a SKUSA Pro Tour championship contender.

While Fernando Luque was a victim of some unfortunate on track circumstances, the X30 Junior driver was able gain some more experience and knowledge in the more powerful and competitive junior class.

Cruttenden continued, “Diego will fight for the championship this year as he has really come into his own as of late. Fernando is continuing to progress as he moved from Mini to KA this year and is now competing in the X30 ranks. All in all, it was a good weekend for our Supertune drivers, and we will now shift our focus to the next event.”
