Making the cross-country trek from their shop in Ocala, Florida to the Utah Motorsports Campus in Tooele, Utah, Speed Concepts Racing will be doing so with a pair of drivers. Set to contest the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) SpringNationals at the Utah Motorsports Campus, both Jack Jeffers and David Ramirez will look to the front of the grid in their respective classes.
“It is a long trip, but we are focused on the task at hand,” expressed Mike Speed, Owner of Speed Concepts Racing. “Whether we have two drivers or ten, the goal is always the same and we will be working to achieve that goal this weekend.”
Jack Jeffers will lead the Speed Concepts Racing duo into Utah as the Junior driver will compete in a pair of classes. Doubling up on the competition, Jeffers will contest a Speed Concepts Racing prepared Redspeed chassis in both KA100 Junior and the X30 Junior classes. Having already earned podium results since returning to the SCR program, Jeffers will be gunning for a victory out West.
Micro Swift driver David Ramirez has been on track gaining experience each and every weekend he can, and it is showing. Consistently improving his speed and race craft, Ramirez will continue that upward trend this weekend at a track that he has yet to visit in his short karting career. Moving from the Micro Swift ranks to Mini Swift, Ramirez will lean on advice and coaching from SCR’s Alex Speed. Ramirez is taking huge strides in his program and will look to improve his best finishes of the year this weekend in a new race division.
“I really enjoy working with David. He listens well and even though he is a young kid, he works to apply that coaching on track,” explained Alex Speed. “New tracks are always challenging but with a small driver lineup this weekend, we will be able to work more one on one with the drivers which will help even more.”
With practice taking place on Thursday and Friday, the SKUSA SpringNationals will feature a pair of race days on Saturday and Sunday. Stay tuned to the Speed Concepts Racing social media pages for news, information, photos and results from the event weekend.
