With back-to-back events at the racy New Castle Motorsports Park facility just east of the motorsports capital of the world, Indianapolis, Indiana, six Speed Concepts Racing (SCR) drivers will look to carry the momentum of a solid 2017 season into the final round of the SuperKarts! USA (SKUSA) Pro Tour. With the annual SummerNationals in the Midwest in August, three SCR drivers will enter the talent-laden IAME X30 Junior class while three others will look to flex their muscles in IAME Mini Swift.
“The SCR team consists of six drivers that have grown into somewhat of a family,” insisted Mike Speed, Owner of Speed Concepts Racing. “The three Junior drivers and three Mini drivers really work well together, and I know we are all looking forward to the Pro Tour event this coming weekend.”
In the X30 Junior division, the three Speed Concepts Racing competitors consist of Jeremy Fairbairn, Tyler Gonzalez and Tyler Maxson. All three have shown speed throughout 2017 and have all scored race wins, podiums and/or championships under the SCR banner.
Paul Bocuse, Alex Powell and Kyffin Simpson will fly the Speed Concepts Racing flag in the IAME Mini Swift class as the trio continues to improve and show their strength in national level competition. Bocuse, Powell and Simpson have battled at the front of the field in national level competition and much like their junior teammates, have garnered successes along the way.
With unofficial practice beginning on Thursday and official practice on Friday, qualifying and wheel-to-wheel competition commences on Saturday morning with the first of two official race days.
