In the final United States Pro Kart Series (USPKS) event of 2020, powerhouse team Speed Concepts Racing will enter eight drivers this coming weekend in Mooresville, North Carolina. Taking on the GoPro Motorplex, the Redspeed brand will be well represented in X30 Junior, Senior and Masters as SCR branded drivers will be looking to close the USPKS season strong.
“This is our largest contingent of drivers in 2020, but we are prepared and ready to go,” explained Mike Speed. “We had a great SuperNats Shootout event less than two weeks ago where we scored one win and three podiums. We will be looking to carry that momentum into North Carolina before our annual trek out West in November.”
Four competitors will look to fight for only three spots on the podium in X30 Junior as Paul Bocuse, Ayden Ingratta, Jack Jeffers and Jace Park will all do battle. Bocuse has scored multiple podiums in IAME powered competition and will look to continue that trend this week while Ingratta makes the trip south from Canada for his first event with Speed Concepts Racing since the COVID-19 pandemic began. SuperNats Shootout victor Jack Jeffers will aim to score victories in back-to-back events while Jace Park is the current championship point leader and has been a threat for race wins and podiums throughout the 2020 USPKS program. While four drivers will do battle on track, they will all work together in the paddock to ensure they are at the front of the field.
While four will compete in Junior, three will throw their hat in the mix in X30 Senior with drivers Luke Lange, Luca Mars and Kyffin Simpson. Mars, who is a multi-time race winner in 2020, will look to close the USPKS program on a high while SuperNats Shootout podium winner Luke Lange will look to outduel his teammates. Kyffin Simpson will return to karting after multiple events on the FR Americas Championship Powered by Honda and provide a powerful 1-2-3 punch for Speed Concepts Racing.
X30 Masters perennial frontrunner Scott Roberts will be back with SCR in Mooresville as he looks to repeat his success from 2019 at the same facility. Scoring the win one year ago, Roberts enters the Masters class as one of the top veteran drivers in the country and will look to put a stamp of approval on his 2020 campaign.
With unofficial practice beginning on Thursday, a full day of official practice will take place on Friday before two days of wheel-to-wheel action on Saturday and Sunday. Stay tuned to the Speed Concepts Racing social media pages for news, information, photos and results from the event weekend.
