With more than half of the 2021 karting season behind them, Speed Concepts Racing (SCR) will travel to Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin and the famed Road America facility for the second event weekend of the United States Pro Kart Series (USPKS). With six drivers providing nine entries to the series, the elite level karting team will be back on the hunt for race wins and podium results.
Pulling double duty over the weekend will be three Junior drivers as Ayden Ingratta, Jack Jeffers and G3 Argyros will all see action in both KA100 Junior and X30 Junior Pro. With double the track time in two classes, the trio is hoping that this will reap benefits when the wheel-to-wheel action commences on Saturday morning.
Multi-time race winner and 2020 Road America USPKS winner Scott Roberts will look to defend his victory from last season on X30 Masters. Always a threat in the elder class, Roberts has had a presence at the front of the field throughout the season and will look to add another win to his resume. From the oldest class on the grid to one of the youngest, David Ramirez will continue his learning experience as he throws his hat in the Mini Swift class. Moving from the Micro to the Mini ranks as of late, Ramirez is aiming to move up the running order in Wisconsin.
Joining Speed Concepts Racing this weekend will be Alex Nowyse. Set to contend in the X30 Pro ranks, Nowyse will complete the six driver, nine entry lineup for the weekend.
“It will be a busy weekend, but we are excited and anxious to get going,” explained Alex Speed. “It has been a few months since we had a major national event, and I know we have been working hard behind the scenes to find that extra speed. I think we have done our homework and hopefully that will yield us some podium results at Road America.”
With on track action getting underway on Thursday, Friday will provide another day of practice before the action heats up over the weekend. With two complete race days and two chances for each Speed Concepts Racing drivers to earn podium results, Saturday and Sunday will provide two complete days of racing.
