With a busy month of August now behind them, Indianapolis, Indiana based Supertune will travel north this weekend. Taking on the CTECH Manufacturing Motorplex on the grounds of Road America, the Tony Kart program will have six entries in the Kettle Moraine region of Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.
With drivers in X30 Junior, KA100 Junior and X30 Pro, a pair of Supertune drivers will pull double duty in two different classes. Multi-time race winner John Burke will lead the way to Wisconsin as he will be joined by Texan Noah Baker in both the X30 Junior and KA100 Junior divisions. As a potent one-two combination in the junior ranks, Burke and Baker will be joined by perennial front-runner Jorge Ortiz in the X30 class.
“We are working hard to make sure our junior program is the best in the business,” explained Team Owner Ben Cruttenden. “We have scored multiple race wins, podiums and top-five finishes and these results will lead to an event bigger and better program in 2021.”
Haopeng Zhang will be back with Supertune in the X30 Pro category. A strong advocate of the Tony Kart brand, Zhang has competed around the world and taken some competitors to big events throughout Europe and Asia. Racing for fun and to stay in shape, Zhang competed at the New Castle Motorsports Park event and will aim to improve his results at Road America.
With unofficial practice beginning on Thursday, official sessions will take place on Friday before two separate days of wheel-to-wheel action will commence on Saturday and Sunday. Stay tuned to the Supertune social media pages for news, photos, results and information from the event weekend.
