The time has come to finally kick off the 2018 karting season and Speed Concepts Racing will do so this coming weekend at the AMR Homestead-Miami Motorplex. Traveling south to compete in the first ever Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Winter Series event, the Orlando based raced team will enter seven fierce competitors across two classes in their quest for race wins and podiums.
Competing at the former Homestead Karting facility that has been completely revamped by new owners, Speed Concepts Racing returns to the same facility that has brought them success in the past.
“The start of the season is always important as we want to try and get ahead and have a jump on our competition,” explained Mike Speed. “As a team, we have worked hard in our testing program and preparation for this event. We used the World Karting Association event in Daytona as a test and were on track again this past weekend for a few days. Now, we just need to fine tune and see if we can gather those much deserved race wins.”
Three drivers will fly the Speed Concepts Racing banner in the IAME Mini Swift class in Noah Baker, Paul Bocuse and Alex Powell while Justin Arseneau, Arias Deukmedjian, Tyler Gonzalez and Kyffin Simpson will fight for the checkers in X30 Junior.
Speed added, “We have a lot of racing in the next three months and it all starts this week. We have a good group of talented drivers, some new and some returning, and should be a threat for victories once wheel-to-wheel action begins.”
