With nearly a month off between race weekends, Ryan MacDermid, driver of the #16 Alliance Racing Sponsored by Gas Monkey Energy machine, has had plenty of time to rest and prepare for the next event. This weekend, MacDermid will be travelling to Alton, Virginia to compete in the F4 United Stated Championship Powered by Honda event at Virginia International Raceway. The three-day event will bring the series to the 3.27-mile, 17-turn road course, alongside The F3 Americas Championship Powered by Honda.
“I am ready to be back in a car!” MacDermid exclaimed. “I think that I have settled into the car and the series well, and I am getting better every race weekend. It has been a huge learning curve so far this season, but I am excited to see what I can achieve the rest of the season and hopefully secure my first podium soon!”
MacDermid is going into this weekend currently sitting ninth in the championship points standings and is getting stronger each and every race. In the first event of the season at Road Atlanta, MacDermid earned two tenth place finishes and a twelfth place finish. Last month in Pittsburgh, he made massive improvements garnering an eleventh place result in the first race and then ended his weekend with sixth and fifth place finishes.
“Ryan has been a great addition to the team,” said Alliance Racing Engineer Nathan Toney. “He is becoming more consistent every time he steps into the car and has shown a ton of potential.”
This weekend will cover rounds seven through nine of the 2019 Championship, beginning with three test sessions on Thursday. Two official practice sessions will take place on Friday in preparation for qualifying and race one on Saturday. The weekend will conclude on Sunday with two more 30-minute races for rounds eight and nine.
