It was the final round of the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Pro Tour this past weekend at the ultra-fast New Castle Motorsports Park (NCMP) where Team Benik driver and Mini Swift rookie Royce Vega secured fifth in the drivers’ championship. After leading races in Florida, Utah, and Indiana, Vega was consistently in the top-ten and the highest-finishing driver that moved from Micro Swift to Mini Swift this season.

“It was a great Pro Tour, and we are looking forward to finishing the season strong in Las Vegas,” explained Marco Vega, father of Royce. “At only nine years of age, Royce battled competitors much older and with more experience as he added to his results resume throughout the 2023 season building upon his nine podium results in Micro Swift during the 2022 season.”

Having the ability to quickly adapt to new tracks and changing conditions, Vega was able to earn fast lap honors on several occasions, the pole position at the challenging Utah Motorsports Campus, and fourth and sixth-place finishes this past weekend in Indiana. Utilizing the help and support of Team Benik, Vega is one of karting’s future stars as he now shifts his focus to the biggest events in North America.

Marco continued, “We have a few United States Pro Kart Series (USPKS) events left as well as ROK Vegas and of course the SKUSA SuperNationals. Our goal is to finish the season strong and really chase some championships next year.”

Along with the success at the SKUSA Pro Tour, Vega has also been a frontrunner and winner in the USPKS and ROK Cup USA events.
