Searching for their first national level victory, Christian Bird Motorsports almost attained their goal at last weekend’s ROK Cup USA Challenge of the America event. With three hungry drivers behind the wheel of Christian Bird Motorsports branded chassis, Junior ROK driver Liam Letzsch led the way with a pole position, heat race win and podium result in Sunday’s main event.
“We were so close to that first national level win as a team,” explained Christian Bird. “We have been crossing our t’s and dotting our i’s in testing and race events and our hard work is paying off. We are now ready to not only podium, but win, and we have opportunities to join the team as we move forward in 2019.”
After finishing fourth on Saturday in the talent filled ROK Junior category, Letzsch leveled up on Sunday and was one of the drivers to beat throughout the day. Narrowly missing the win, the future champion represented the Christian Bird Motorsports brand on the podium later that afternoon.
Colton Timmons would be behind the wheel of a Christian Bird Motorsports prepared ROK Shifter and battled hard in the gearbox division. Finishing 12th on Saturday, Timmons gained more experience on Sunday as he looks to move up the grid during round three in less than one month’s time.
Karting newcomer Hayden Moody flew the CBR colors in the 100cc Senior class and without bad luck, he would have no luck at all. Involved in incidents that were no fault of his own, Moody was able to gather on track racing experience while taking in driver coaching, data analysis and trackside support from the growing Christian Bird operation as he showed top-ten pace in both days of competition.
Bird added, “We are continuing to offer arrive and drive programs as well as tent and transport. We always offer advice and support for our customers and assist all with data and video analysis to ensure they have the best chance at results as possible. We are planning on several local, regional and national level events in 2019 and are inviting any interested parties in trying our program to contact us today.”
In 2019, Christian Bird Motorsports can be found at the ROK Cup USA Challenge of the Americas, Superkarts! USA Pro Tour, Colorado Karting Tour, ROK Cup USA ROK the Rockies, ROK the RIO and the SKUSA SuperNationals.
