With his 2017 Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) season complete, Texan Parker Chase will travel to Georgia for the IMSA Continental Sports Car Challenge Motul Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. Accepting an invitation to join friend and fellow PWC driver Nate Stacy in KohR Motorsport program, the duo will compete in the Continental Sports Car Challenge two-hour endurance race that takes place on Friday, October 6.
“I am really excited to head to Road Atlanta. To do so with KohR Motorsports and Nate Stacy makes the experience event better. This will be my first time back at Road Atlanta since my F1600 days,” explains Parker Chase. “Since my last race of the PWC season in Sonoma, I have been anxious to get back behind the wheel regardless of that being in race or test conditions. I’m pretty happy to do so with Nate and at an event such as the Petit Le Mans.”
With support from his marketing partners Protein Water by ProBalance and the New Braunfels Convention and Visitors Bureau, Chase will partner with Stacy in the IMSA Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge season finale in a KohR Motorsports prepared Ford Mustang. With a championship caliber team in his corner and trackside support from Roush Performance, Ford and Multimatic, goals are set high for the October 4-7 event week.
“Having Parker as part of the program at Road Atlanta definitely makes our team a little stronger,” adds Dean Martin of KohR Motorsport. “With he and Nate (Stacy) behind the wheel and the experience of our talented team, we have a legitimate shot at a podium and victory which would be a great way to close out the 2017 racing season.”
With a Promoters Test Day scheduled for Wednesday, October 4, Chase will use that time to get familiarized with the Ford Mustang and KohR Motorsport squad. Having never driven the Mustang before, Thursday will house two official practice sessions for Chase to get up to speed. Friday morning, Chase and Stacy will put it all on the line in qualifying before wheel-to-wheel action commences Friday afternoon as the main event for the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge takes the green flag at 1:50pm (EDT).
