In what can only be described as horrible weather conditions, Texan Parker Chase claimed his first career Pirelli World Challenge GTA victory this past weekend. Taking on the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in Bowmanville, Ontario, Chase and his #19 Vertical Bridge / New Braunfels Convention and Visitors Bureau / ProBalance Protein Water / Music Movement Audi R8 GT3 LMS tiptoed his way around a slick racing circuit on Saturday to the top step of the podium. Chase returned to the track Sunday to claim his sixth podium result of the season with an impressive third place finish.

“What a day we had on Saturday!” explained Chase. “My TruSpeed AutoSport team gave me the perfect race car and I put it to good use. I managed to claim the pole position earlier in the morning before the race win on Saturday afternoon.”

Taking the green flag late Saturday afternoon after the start of the race was delayed due to extreme rain and fog, Chase lined up outside row two in the fourth position overall but first in class.

Chase continued, “The first thirty minutes of the race we had a mega lead, but as the tires fell off, some of my competitors got quicker but I managed to hold them off. I am extremely happy with our result and the team did an amazing job. Feels good to finally get the first win ticked off the list. Quite hectic but man was it fun. Big thanks to Ryan Dalziel for all the help and support throughout the event weekend.”

Returning to the track on Sunday, Chase started his quest for back-to-back victories from inside row five. Dry conditions would present themselves for the third day of the event weekend as Chase started ninth overall and third in class. Maintaining his position throughout the event, the 17-year-old scored back-to-back podiums on the weekend, his fifth and sixth of the season.

Leaving Canada on Sunday evening, Chase is headed to North Carolina to support marketing partner Vertical Bridge at the Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) ConnectX conference. Parker will also take part in the 3rd Annual Charity Concert and benefit for Music Movement featuring Lee Brice and Billy Dawson on Tuesday, May 22nd before making the short trek to Lime Rock Park for back-to-back event weekends.
