Paityn MaryJane Feyen closed out her Toyota GR Cup season this past weekend at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS), competing with Nitro Motorsports in the series finale. Despite facing adversity, the young driver showcased perseverance as she capped off her rookie GR Cup campaign.
After two practice sessions to open the weekend, Feyen qualified 18th for the first race. She was running competitively in the midfield until a clutch issue cut her race short after just 13 laps. Determined to bounce back, Feyen took to the grid for race two, starting from 19th, ultimately finishing 19th—marking the team’s highest finish of the race for Nitro Motorsports.
“This season has been such a valuable learning experience,” explained Paityn Feyen. “We faced our fair share of challenges, but I’ve grown so much as a driver and learned a lot about adapting to new situations. I’m really thankful for everyone at Nitro Motorsports for their hard work and for all the support I’ve had throughout the year.”
Feyen continued, “Indy was exceptionally challenging as a car issue forced me to the sidelines in what was a solid run. Race two was a lot better, but definitely not where I wanted to be on the results sheet. I will put this weekend behind me and focus on the next event, which is this coming weekend.”
With her Toyota GR Cup season now complete, Feyen will shift her focus to the Asphalt Nationals in the INEX Racing Series, taking place at The Bullring in Las Vegas from October 23–25. Fans can find more information about the event at inexseries.com/events/asphalt-nationals.
