Paityn Feyen is back in action this weekend as she returns to the #80 Nitro Motorsports Toyota GR86 for the next round of the Toyota GR Cup North America at the challenging and scenic VIRginia International Raceway (VIR). After a brief mid-season break, Feyen is ready to get back behind the wheel and take on the legendary 3.27-mile road course nestled in the rolling hills of southern Virginia.
Feyen last competed in the GR Cup in mid-May at Sebring International Raceway, where she earned the Highest Finishing Female Award in both races of the weekend. Despite the break in GR Cup competition, Paityn has stayed sharp, recently competing in the CookOut Summer Shootout Legends Car Series at the famed Charlotte Motor Speedway, running on the quarter-mile oval inside the iconic NASCAR venue.
“I’m really excited to get back to the GR Cup this weekend at VIR,” expressed Feyen. “It’s one of the most technical and fast-flowing tracks on the schedule, and I’ve been working hard to stay race-ready during the break. Running Legends at Charlotte has helped to keep me sharp, and now I’m ready to push hard with Nitro Motorsports and make the most of this weekend.”
This weekend at VIR marks a key point in the season, as drivers look to build momentum heading into the second half of the year. The fast and flowing circuit will present plenty of challenges, but also opportunities for Feyen as she continues to grow her presence in the highly competitive series.
The event kicks off on Thursday with two testing sessions, followed by official practice on Friday. Saturday will feature Qualifying 1 and Race 1, while Sunday closes out the weekend with Qualifying 2 and Race 2.
