Nitro Motorsports delivered another strong weekend in the Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli this past weekend at Lime Rock Park, highlighted by a podium result and several impressive drives through difficult wet-weather conditions.
The team entered the weekend with a strong qualifying performance across both the TA2 and Pro/Am categories. Gian Buffomante led the Nitro Motorsports TA2 effort in qualifying with a sixth-place starting position, followed by Ethan Tovo in eighth. Jackson Tovo qualified 13th ahead of Jake Bollman in 15th and Seamus McKendree in 16th. In the Pro/Am category, Cale Phillips secured pole position for class.
Rainy conditions on Saturday created a challenging race for the entire field, but Nitro Motorsports adapted well throughout the event. Jackson Tovo charged through the field to finish fifth while Ethan Tovo followed closely behind in sixth, continuing the brothers’ recent streak of strong performances and leading the Nitro Motorsports squad in the National class.
Buffomante crossed the line in tenth ahead of teammate Bollman in 11th. McKendree completed the race in 20th after battling the difficult conditions throughout the afternoon. Phillips capped off the weekend in dominant fashion by converting his Pro/Am pole position into a second-place result for Nitro Motorsports.
Team owner Nick Tucker praised the effort from the entire organization after another competitive weekend.
“It was a really strong weekend for our entire program. The race conditions made things extremely difficult, but all of our drivers did a great job staying focused and bringing home solid results. Seeing Jackson and Ethan continue to move forward and having Cale up front in the Pro/Am class was a huge positive for the team. Everyone continues to improve every weekend, and we’re excited to keep building momentum.”
With strong momentum across multiple programs, Nitro Motorsports continues to establish itself as a growing force throughout the 2026 racing season. Nitro Motorsports will now shift focus toward its next major event in the Toyota GR Cup, scheduled for June 12-14. Before then, the team will compete in the ARCA Menards Series at Michigan International Speedway as the busy summer racing schedule continues.
