NITRO MOTORSPORTS EARNS FIRST ARCA MENARDS SERIES TOP-TEN IN PHOENIX

It was the second round of the 2025 ARCA Menards Series season and the best one yet for Nitro Motorsports. After a tough start to the season with two wrecked race cars in Daytona, Nitro Motorsports entered Thad Moffitt this past weekend in Phoenix. Battling inside the top-ten all race long and having a chance at the win late in the race, Moffitt steered his #46 entry to a seventh-place result after fighting in the top-five late in the race.

“It was a hard-fought battle and a tricky day due to the weather,” explained Nitro Motorsports Owner Nick Tucker. “With practice and qualifying rained out, it was straight into the race Friday evening. Despite still being a very young team, we used the resources around us to ensure we were as prepared as possible and finished seventh.”

Lining up 13th on the grid and inside row seven for the General Tire 150 at Phoenix, Moffitt quickly worked his way forward and inside the top-ten. Continuing his march forward, the #46 machine hovered around the top-five, biding his time until late in the race. Pushing forward and looking for the win, Moffitt endured several late race shootouts for the win and started the final shootout in the fourth position.

Tucker continued, “When the green flag flew with one lap to go, Thad started fourth and went for it. While drivers battled three wide in front of him, he dove to the bottom to take advantage of the situation and lost a little momentum. After slight contact and trying to defend his spot on track, he eventually fell back to seventh when he crossed the finish line.”

Despite restarting in fourth and finishing seventh, it was the best event to date for the newly formed Nitro Motorsports program. Proving that they can fight at the front of the ARCA Menards Series field, Tucker was happy with the pace of his Toyota driver and was already looking forward to the next one.

“In our rookie season, we just want to see improvement,” continued Tucker. “We are already battling at the front of the field with some bigger and more experienced teams, which speaks volumes about how committed we are to success.”

Next up for the Nitro Motorsports ARCA Menards Series program will be a trip to the Talladega Superspeedway on April 26th.
