Nicolas Stati is ready to take on the Grand Prix of Portland as Cusick Morgan Motorsports and INDY NXT by Firestone head west for Round 14 of the 2026 season. With four races remaining in his developmental debut campaign, the 17-year-old driver from Perth, Australia, is focused on continuing his progression and maximizing every opportunity in this final stretch of competition.
Portland International Raceway will present another new challenge for Stati, who has no prior racing or testing experience at the 1.964-mile, 12-turn road course. Located just outside downtown Portland, Oregon, the West Coast location provides one of the shortest travel of the season for Stati who commutes from Australia for each and event INDY NXT event.
The weekend offers another chance for Stati to build on his rookie INDY NXT season, returning to a road course after his first oval start at Nashville Superspeedway while learning yet another new venue.
With only two practice sessions before qualifying, preparation will be key. The Cusick Morgan Motorsports driver has focused on simulator work, onboard study, and collaboration with his engineer to arrive as prepared as possible.
“I’m looking forward to taking on another new track,” commented Stati. “Every weekend this season has been a chance to learn and continue improving, and I’m excited to see what we can accomplish. The goal is to keep building on our progress, put together a strong weekend, and fight for a top-ten finish in Portland.”
The Grand Prix of Portland race weekend begins with practice one on Friday at 4:30 PM ET. Saturday will feature practice two at 12:00 PM ET, followed by qualifying at 3:00 PM ET. The green flag for Round 14 is scheduled for Sunday at 2:00 PM ET.
Practice one will air live on FS2, while practice two, qualifying, and the Grand Prix of Portland will be available live on FS1. All sessions will also be available to watch on FOX One.
