Nicolas Stati heads to another familiar circuit over the July 3–5 holiday weekend, as the INDY NXT by Firestone championship returns to the historic Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Piloting the #15 Cusick Morgan Motorsports entry, the Australian rookie will tackle Rounds 11 and 12 on one of his most successful tracks to date.
The 2.258-mile, 13-turn road course has already produced memorable results for Stati. During the 2024 Formula 4 U.S. Championship season, he claimed victory in Race One at Mid-Ohio and narrowly missed a weekend sweep, finishing just 0.264 seconds shy of another win in Race Two. Those performances showcased his comfort and confidence around the technical circuit set in Lexington, Ohio, making it a venue circled on the calendar for the young driver.
Adding to his preparation, Stati participated in the official INDY NXT group test at Mid-Ohio in April, gaining valuable experience in the heavier, more powerful INDY NXT machinery. The additional seat time has provided the Cusick Morgan Motorsports driver with a strong baseline setup and a deeper understanding of how to maximize performance around one of the series’ most demanding road courses.
Stati enters the weekend carrying momentum from Road America, where he continued to make significant strides in his rookie campaign. Utilizing his previous experience at the Wisconsin circuit, the Australian put together a productive weekend focused on development and growth, steadily improving throughout the event and further building chemistry with the Cusick Morgan Motorsports team.
With the fourth doubleheader weekend of the season on deck, Mid-Ohio presents another opportunity for Stati to convert his familiarity with the circuit into strong results and continue his upward trajectory in the championship standings.

Action from Mid-Ohio begins on Friday with the weekend’s sole practice session at 2:00 PM ET. Qualifying kicks off Saturday’s schedule at 9:00 AM ET before Race One goes green at 1:00 PM ET. The weekend concludes on Sunday with Race Two at 10:00 AM ET. Fans can watch qualifying and both races live on FS1, with every session streaming live on FOX One.
