Last year, HMD Motorsports driver Christian Bogle earned his career-best INDY NXT by Firestone result with a fourth-place result at the Grand Prix of Detroit. Returning to the city of his best finish, a new venue and new layout will greet the nearly 20-driver-strong field as Bogle looks to repeat his success from 2022.
“Although we are on different tires, and we are going into a new venue and layout at a new location, the excitement to return to Detroit is still there,” expressed the driver of the #7 Pelican Energy Consultants machine. “I had a decent race in St. Pete and fared well at round two at Barber Motorsports Park, but Indy was not kind to us. I am hoping that we can get pointed back in the right direction again this weekend.”
With a tight field on track and in the point standings, anything can happen as Christian Bogle moves into the heart of the race season. Entering the Indy Grand Prix event tenth in the championship standings, Bogle now sits 13th, only 11 points from tenth and 20 points from sixth.
The weekend will kick off Friday with the one and only practice session in the early afternoon before qualifying will set the grid for race one and two. The first wheel-to-wheel action will take place on Saturday afternoon with Sunday’s event taking the green flag just prior to the seventh round of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES.
