Nathan Dupuis continued his development in the Toyota GR Cup North America championship this past weekend, competing in his second-ever car racing event at the famed Sonoma Raceway in Rounds Three and Four of the 2026 season.
Driving the No. 041 Copeland Motorsports entry, Dupuis built on the experience gained in his series debut and showed continued progress throughout the weekend on the challenging Northern California road course. He qualified 15th for both Race One and Race Two, putting himself in position to battle inside a competitive field.
In Race One, Dupuis crossed the finish line in 11th position but was later elevated to tenth following a post-race penalty assessed to another competitor and earning his first points of the 2026 campaign. He returned for Race Two on Sunday and added another valuable result, finishing 14th at the checkered flag.
The Sonoma weekend marked another important step forward for Dupuis as he continues adjusting to car racing and the competitiveness of the Toyota GR Cup series after recently making the move from karts to cars. With just two car race weekends now under his belt, the event provided additional seat time, race craft development, and experience in one of North America’s most competitive one-make championships.
“Sonoma was another big learning weekend for me, and I’m happy with the progress we made,” commented the 15-year-old Dupuis. “Every lap, I’m gaining more confidence and learning more about the car, the racing, and what it takes to be competitive in this series. Huge thanks to Copeland Motorsports for all of their work and support throughout the weekend. I’m excited to keep building and see what we can do at the next round.”
As Dupuis continues to gain experience behind the wheel, Sonoma served as another solid building block in his transition into car racing. With continued momentum and growing confidence, he now looks ahead to the next opportunity to further climb the order in Toyota GR Cup North America competition.
