Jay Howard’s Motorsports Driver Development program (MDD), a fixture in the United States F4 Championship Powered by Honda, is pleased to announce growth into the F3 Americas program and the signing of Argentine Baltazar Leguizamón. Set to take delivery of the new F3 machine in January, MDD will have efforts in both F3 and F4 during the 2018 season as they continue to add to their own motorsports ladder from karting, through F4 and now into F3.
“We are in full support of Honda and all of their great partners including Onroak, Pirelli, SCCA, FIA and many more,” explained multi-time Indianapolis 500 competitor Jay Howard. “We have committed to the F3 and F4 programs in the United States as these programs are the perfect step up from karting for our drivers to continue working towards the highest levels of motorsports whether it be in the United States or Europe.”
Leguizamón, who is only 17 years of age, debuted in 2016 in the Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda where he scored two podium results in his rookie season. This season Baltazar won in Virginia with more than 30 competitors and will look to continue the success in F3 in 2018.
“Baltazar is a good driver and has gained experience in the United States throughout the past two seasons,” added Howard. “I am confident he will be a title contender under the MDD banner. We are anxiously awaiting the delivery of the car which is expected in January so we can launch our test program to learn and develop our new ride.”
