The USF Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires crowned a champion in their season finale at Portland International Raceway this past weekend. Among other drivers who were fighting for race wins and podium results was Turn 3 Motorsport rookie Louka St-Jean. The young French-Canadian joined the Illinois-based team halfway through the 2023 season, leveling up from the USF2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires prior to the Road America event in June.
Louka seemed to have found his stride on the 1.964-mile-long track, bringing home a pair of top-ten finishes, one of those being his best finish of the season, piloting his #3 Planiform-branded car across the finish line in fifth. After starting from the outside of row six in the 12th position, St-Jean rocketed his way forward in the very first race of the weekend for his first top-five in the series.
“I’m so thankful to the Turn 3 Motorsport team for giving me a quick car this weekend,” explained St-Jean. “We’ve struggled to find pace at some venues but that is partially due to me being new to both the team and the car. It seems like we were able to get it figured out early on this time around so I could get acclimated with the track well.”
After a bit of traffic and some hard racing hindered St-Jean’s second race, he bounced back with an eighth-place finish, two spots further forward from his race three starting position.
St. Jean continued, “It’s tough that this was our last race because I was just starting to really get comfortable behind the wheel of the #3 USF Pro machine. I’ve learned so much this year from my Turn 3 Motorsport team, and I look forward to continuing that upward trend in 2024.”
St. Jean went on to say, “I would like to personally thank all my sponsors, Planiform, Proservin Construction, Cosme Inc., Acier Marquis, JIT Laser Inc., and TLA Architectes for supporting me this season and allowing me to focus on what I love. I wouldn’t have been able to do this season without all of them.”

5 septembre 2023 – Le championnat USF Pro 2000 présenté par Cooper Tires a couronné un champion lors de la finale de la saison au Portland International Raceway le week-end dernier. Parmi les autres pilotes en lice pour des victoires en course et des podiums se trouvait le débutant Louka St-Jean de l’équipe Turn 3 Motorsport. Le jeune québécois a rejoint l’équipe basée en Illinois à mi-chemin de la saison 2023, passant du championnat USF2000 présenté par Cooper Tires avant l’événement de Road America en juin.
Louka semblait avoir trouvé son rythme sur la piste longue de 1,964 mile, ramenant à la maison une paire de résultats dans le top dix, l’un d’entre eux étant sa meilleure performance de la saison, pilotant sa voiture numéro trois arborant la marque de son partenaire Planiform jusqu’à la cinquième place. Après avoir commencé depuis l’extérieur de la sixième ligne en douzième position, St-Jean a progressé rapidement lors de la toute première course du week-end pour obtenir son premier top cinq de la série.
“Je suis tellement reconnaissant envers l’équipe Turn 3 Motorsport de m’avoir fourni une voiture rapide ce week-end”, a expliqué St-Jean. “Nous avons eu du mal à trouver de la vitesse sur certaines pistes, mais cela est en partie dû au fait que je suis nouveau dans l’équipe et que je pilote une nouvelle voiture. Il semble que nous ayons pu résoudre cela rapidement cette fois-ci, ce qui m’a permis de m’adapter à la piste.”
Après avoir été gêné par un peu de trafic lors de sa deuxième course, St-Jean a rebondi avec une huitième place, deux places de mieux que sa position de départ pour la troisième course.
St. Jean a poursuivi : “C’est triste que ce soit notre dernière course parce que je commençais vraiment à me sentir à l’aise derrière le volant de la machine USF Pro numéro trois. J’ai tellement appris cette année avec mon équipe de Turn 3 Motorsport et j’ai hâte de continuer cette tendance positive en 2024.”
St. Jean a ajouté : “Je tiens à remercier personnellement tous mes sponsors Planiform, Proservin Construction, Cosme Inc., Acier Marquis, JIT Laser Inc., et TLA Architectes de m’avoir soutenu cette saison et de m’avoir permis de me concentrer sur ce que j’aime. Je n’aurais pas pu faire cette saison sans eux.”
