As the calendar is now well into the New Year, Team BENIK welcomes Kai Sorensen as the newest member of the elite karting program. The nine-year-old pilot will join the BENIK Kart team just in time to kick off the 2018 season, as he will race select series and events throughout the year with the team, looking to surpass the strong results the young driver earned in 2017.

“Kai will be a great addition to the BENIK program,” comments Team Manager Nick Mitchell. “He has had great success in his karting career so far, and will surely continue achieving great things. He will further help the team push forward into 2018 and carry our momentum into the upcoming season.”

Sorensen has created a strong resume for himself in the last two racing seasons. In 2016, he was crowned the Micro Swift champion in the SuperKarts! USA (SKUSA) California ProKart Challenge. In 2017, he scored the championship again in the SKUSA Pro Tour series, this time in Mini Swift. Sorensen plans to run the ROK Cup Florida Winter Tour, the SKUSA Pro Tour, and select other races in 2018 with team, and is looking forward to more success with BENIK.

Mitchell continued, “We have another strong lineup for our karting program in 2018 and will have further announcements in the coming weeks. Also, we look forward to confirming drivers for both our United States F4 and USF2000 programs.”
