JTR Motorsports Engineering is set to return to Porsche Carrera Cup North America competition this weekend as the team heads to the iconic Road America for the next rounds of the 2026 championship. The team will field a two-car lineup featuring driver and team owner Jared Thomas in the Pro class alongside Rob Walker, who will compete in the Masters class. The race weekend will also be the home for the makeup race for the cancelled Miami Race 2 in which Jared Thomas will look to fight for the win while Walker will not be permitted to race due to not attending the originally scheduled Miami rounds.
Road America has long been regarded as one of North America’s premier road courses. The legendary 4.048-mile, 14-turn circuit consistently produces exciting racing and is a favorite among teams and drivers.
JTR Motorsports Engineering enters the weekend looking to continue building momentum following the previous Carrera Cup round at Watkins Glen International, where the team battled against one of the most competitive fields in the series.
“Road America is one of those tracks every driver looks forward to,” explained JTR Motorsports Engineering’s Jared Thomas. “It’s incredibly fast, has a lot of character, and really challenges both the driver and the car. We’ve continued to make progress throughout the season, and the entire team has been working hard to put ourselves in a position to compete at the front. Rob and I are both excited to get back on track, and we’re looking forward to another strong weekend for JTR Motorsports.”
With another iconic circuit awaiting and valuable championship points on the line, JTR Motorsports Engineering heads to Road America ready to continue its progress during the second half of the Porsche Carrera Cup North America season.
The weekend begins Thursday with two practice sessions at 8:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m., followed by qualifying at 3:45 p.m. Friday features two 40-minute races, beginning at 10:25 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. The Miami Race 2 makeup will take place Saturday at 8:50 a.m. Jared Thomas will represent JTR Motorsports Engineering in the makeup race, while Rob Walker is not eligible to participate because he did not compete at the Miami event.
